What is Jumpstart Jeopardy?
Jumpstart Jeopardy is a live, high-energy trivia event where our VPs go head-to-head in a classic Jeopardy-style game, all in support of Jumpstart.
What is Jeopardy?
Jeopardy is a trivia game where contestants select clues from a board of categories and point values. Players must buzz in to answer and respond in the form of a question.
Correct answers add points, while incorrect answers deduct points. Only one player or team can answer after buzzing in first.
The game typically includes a main round, a higher-value round, and ends with Final Jeopardy, where contestants can wager part of their score on a final question.
But this is not just a spectator event!
Everyone watching has the power to influence the game in real time through donations that can help teams or throw them off their game.
Join us live, watch the competition unfold, and be part of the action as it happens.
How It Works
We will play through one full Jeopardy board followed by Final Jeopardy.
Contestants will compete for points by answering questions, but the audience plays a critical role by shaping what happens next.
Every donation made during the event directly impacts gameplay.
How You Can Get Involved
As part of the audience, you can:
Help a team succeed at key moments
Add pressure and make questions more difficult
Completely shift the momentum of the game
You can participate during the event or donate ahead of time to set your favourite VP up for success or set the stage for a challenge.
All donations support Jumpstart.
Important Details
Donations can be made anonymously
VPs will not know who is helping or sabotaging them
You must clearly specify how you want your donation used
When donating, please include:
The team you want to target
The power up or sabotage you are choosing
The quantity if you are stacking multiple
How Power Ups and Sabotages Work
Power ups and sabotages are applied to the next available buzz-in from that team where the effect can be used
Multiple effects can stack and will be applied in order as opportunities arise
Speed-based effects cancel each other out if both are applied to the same team
Power Ups (Help a Team)
$5 – Extra Time - Gives the team additional time to answer their next question
$10 – Double Points - The team’s next correct answer is worth double
$15 – Safety Net - If the team gets their next question wrong, they do not lose any points
Sabotages (Add Pressure)
$5 – Speed - The team must answer quickly within a shorter time limit
$10 – No Help - The player cannot receive help from teammates for their next question
$15 – Double Risk - If the team answers incorrectly, they lose double points. If correct, they earn normal points
