Dear friends and colleagues,
I am asking for your support as I prepare to ride in Jumpstart’s Pedal for Kids event in June.
Jumpstart’s tireless efforts have brought joy, inspiration, and hope to children and communities nationwide.
Take, for instance, the inspiring story of Iroquois Roots Rugby. Their U16 Girls team experienced a season of "firsts" in 2023 thanks to Jumpstart - hosting their inaugural tournament, winning their first championship, and embarking on an international cultural exchange with a team of Black youth in Maryland. These experiences have proven to be transformative for these young women, shaping their lives in profound ways.
Another noteworthy story is that of the Cape Breton Blizzard Female Hockey Association. Since Jumpstart's support began in 2018, the Blizzard has flourished, growing to 18 teams and welcoming over 300 players last year alone. With their very own "home ice," any girl in the community who wishes to participate in hockey can now find a team and a welcoming environment with the Blizzard. This achievement opens doors for playing, coaching, and mentorship opportunities.
I choose to participate in Pedal for Kids as a personal commitment to Jumpstart’s mission. However, I cannot do it alone; I need your support.
Here's how you can help:
1. Donate: Any amount, big or small, will go a long way in helping Jumpstart provide opportunities for kids who may not otherwise have access to them. Your contribution will directly impact their lives and bring smiles to their faces.
